Sponsorship of ANZSA – Aotearoa New Zealand Seaweed Association

MacLab (NZ) practices and supports sustainable aquaculture initiatives in the community, and we are pleased to announce that we are a foundation sponsor of the recently formed Aotearoa New Zealand Seaweed Association www.anzsa.org.nz.

The vision of the association is for a high value, nature positive seaweed industry in Aotearoa. MacLab CFO, Gary Rountree has been involved in establishing the association and is a board member.

Seaweed aquaculture has experienced global growth due to increasing consumer focus on health and nutrition, plant-based diets, and decarbonisation of the planet.  The industry is still in its infancy here, but with our large area of suitable water space, and engagement and expertise from the community, New Zealand is well placed to make a significant contribution.
